The Universities of Wisconsin is looking to double its number of international students in the next five years, as it lags neighboring states, and international enrollments at many campuses have yet to return to their pre-pandemic levels.
Increasing the number of international students would not only boost the UW system’s overall enrollment and financial outlook. It also naturally creates more diverse campuses where students can access a global education through interacting with their peers, said interim Senior Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs Johannes Britz.
To meet the system’s goals, most universities are partnering with an international recruitment firm, Shorelight, that pairs students with universities across the country.
