A recent study from CoworkingCafe took a nationwide look into the country’s top metropolitan areas (MSAs) for women working in tech.

The study found that Madison is the second-best mid-sized metro area for female tech professionals, being surpassed only by Durham-Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Madison metro makes it easier for women working in tech to access health care , as 69.2% of women professionals have health insurance as part of their employment benefits, the highest share among all 200-plus locations analyzed.

Female tech workers in Madison also check the second-highest earnings among mid-sized MSAs at a yearly median wage of $91,605, behind only New Haven-Milford, Connecticut. The 2.3% unemployment rate among female workers also pushed the metro area to the top — ranking fourth in this population bracket.
