Microsoft Corp. is upping its investment plans in Racine County.

The technology giant in May 2024 announced with much fanfare and a visit from then-President Joe Biden plans for a $3.3 billion data center campus in Mount Pleasant on some of the land originally assembled for Foxconn Technology Group. The first phase of that development is set to open in 2026 as promised, a company spokesperson said Friday.

In addition, Microsoft is embarking on a second phase at the sprawling Racine County site that will add to its investment total.
