The
MidWest Energy Research Consortium (M-WERC) has opened applications for its
business startup initiative, WERCBench Labs. Engineers, scientists and
programmers across all funding stages are asked to submit their applications by
May 29.

Between
10 and 15 startup teams and early stage companies will be selected each year to
join this three-month immersive program. Each team will work with world-class
experts, mentors and have access to unique testing and production facilities,
including high-performance computing, rapid prototyping and small-scale
production equipment.

The program will being on June 8 and conclude on August 27 with a “Demo Day”.  This is where the start-up teams will pitch their products to mentors, stakeholders, member companies and potential investors.

WERCBench
Labs is a program of M-WERC, which brings together world-leading companies,
technical colleges and universities that share a passion for making things. Together,
M-WERC provides access to technology and market insights that helps build
products and scale businesses.

M-WERC
will offer grants to a maximum of 15 teams who join its three-month, immersive,
mentor-driven accelerator this summer. The first program, located at the M-WERC
Energy Innovation Center will run from June 8 to August 27. Learn more: http://wercbench.com/.
