The Wisconsin Technology Council is hosting a conference to help Madison residents launch their own start-ups.

The Entrepreneurs Conference is offering up legal advice, how to find investors, help with social media and more.

The conference falls on the same week when a new, nonstop flight to San Francisco flies out of Dane County Regional Airport. The flight will help connect more Madison business owners with capitalists in Silicon Valley.

The hope with this conference is that millions more dollars will be invested back into the community by new start-ups.

Madison ranks 15th in the country per capita for venture capitalists, according to local start-up COO, Scott Resnick. He launched his own company, Hardin Development, with friends in a dorm room back in 2005. Today, the company has 30 employees, and Resnick is also getting involved in helping with other start-ups through the new business, StartingBlock.
