The Town of Egg Harbor wrapped up 2023 secure in the knowledge that it would be delivering fiber-powered broadband access to more than 2,100 addresses over the next couple of years through an $8.5-million public-private project with AT&T.
“We are excited about this collaboration with AT&T to bring high-speed broadband to the residents of Egg Harbor,” said Steve Schopf, Egg Harbor town board chair. “In today’s digital age, fast connectivity is crucial to everyday life. Bringing AT&T fiber to Egg Harbor is a great step forward in continuing to improve the quality of life for residents, businesses, first responders and visitors in our community.”
Extensive planning and engineering work will begin in the first quarter of 2024, with the network buildout taking place within two years.
