More than 200 middle and high school students around the area rose to the challenge at Fox Valley Technical College.

The college hosted the SkillsUSA competition Friday where students from 20 different school districts showed off their talents in 16 events such as machining, welding, engineering, automotive, and power equipment technology. Some students could move on to the state level which will be held in Madison in April. They can also move on to the national competition.

The event helps promote technical education during Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month in Wisconsin.
