“Fifty years from now, this will be the isotope capital of the world,” said Gref Piefer, founder and CEO of SHINE Technologies.
He joined NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes President and CEO Frank Scholz and other experts on Wednesday at an event exploring the future of the use of radioisotopes in medicine.
The event was held at NorthStar’s facility at 1800 Gateway Blvd. in Beloit. NorthStar employs about 300 people, with about 250 of them working at the Beloit facility.
Both NorthStar and SHINE, based in Janesville, are involved in nuclear medicine, which both Scholz and Piefer said is advancing quickly.
