July is underway with opportunities to celebrate America’s independence and polish your golf game for Tuesday, July 22, at The Oaks in Cottage Grove, where members and friends of the Wisconsin Technology Council converge for a scramble golf outing.
Click here to register for the outing, which will feature an 11 a.m. shotgun start, lunch, carts, prizes and an end-of-day reception. Proceeds will support entrepreneur registration fees at the Nov. 5-6 Early Stage Symposium in Madison, which is produced by the Tech Council, a 501c3 tax-exempt organization.
An individual can golf for $175; a foursome can golf for $650. Not a golfer? Join us for the buffet and cash-bar social hour following the tournament. The reception-only price is $50.
Golfers will have plenty of incentives to bring their “A game” to this year’s outing, with an exciting lineup of prizes up for grabs. The grand prize: a two-year lease on a brand-new Ford Maverick, awarded to the winner of our hole-in-one challenge.
Additional bonus prizes on par 3 holes include a premium set of Tour Edge EXS golf clubs; winners’ choice of a 5-day and four-night adventure cruise route; and a YETI cooler – ideal for your next outdoor excursion. Don’t miss your shot at walking away with one of these prizes!
The Oaks Golf Course, a short drive west on I-94 from the Milwaukee area and easy to reach from the Madison region, can be enjoyed by golfers of any skill level. Playing 5,615 to 6,763 yards, The Oaks combines creative bunkering, wide fairway landing areas and uniquely sloped greens to provide golfers with a best-in-class experience.
The par-71 course includes six varied par 3 holes mixed with five par 5 holes and seven, rather than the standard 12, par 4 holes. Bent grass fairways, tees and greens are augmented by more than 250 mature oak trees scattered throughout the property.
While there are no official U.S. Golf Association rules governing “scrambles,” most such events feature team members teeing off, choosing the team’s best ball for their next shot and continuing until completion of the hole. No good shots on your team? Mulligans are available for a price!
Outing participation will also include range balls provided on practice tee starting at 10 a.m.; pre-tourney clinic; complete bag service; on-course beverage service; scoring and results sheets; course staff will lead groups to proper tee assignments for shotgun start.
Full-swing thanks to our sponsors: EUA, First Business Bank, Kayser Ford, Quarles & Brady, RAMLOW/STEIN Architecture + Interiors and WisBusiness.com. Interested in sponsorship? Email Angela at angela@wisconsintechnologycouncil.com.
Watch for future releases about course games and other details. We hope to see you there!
