MILWAUKEE – Built around the entrepreneurial themes of “Launch, grow, succeed: Creating tomorrow’s jobs today,” the 2011 Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference will be held June 7-8, 2011, in Milwaukee.

More than 60 successful entrepreneurs, investors and other start-up business experts will be featured in 15 workshops and panel discussions organized in three tracks that reflect stages of entrepreneurism: launch, grow and succeed.

 

The Launch Track will include these panels: “Resources for entrepreneurs: How to find the help you need;” “Let’s get bizzy: How to work with BizStarts Milwaukee;” “Cool college start-ups: How entrepreneurism is thriving on campus;” “Sales strategies: What entrepreneurs need to know at home and abroad;” and “The mobile revolution: What start-ups need to know.”

 

The Grow Track will include: “How to place your order at the Start-up Café;” “Killer mistakes and how to avoid them;” “Intellectual property for entrepreneurs: An investor’s perspective;” “On Wisconsin: What’s the state doing to create more venture capital?” and “Open for business: The Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.”

 

The Succeed Track will include: “Economic espionage: Guarding against a $200-billion national problem;” “Coming to terms with your term sheet;” “How we got financing: Lessons from entrepreneurs;” “How to build a board of directors that works for you;” and “Presenting to investors: What angels and venture capitalists want to hear.”

 

“Once armed with a great idea, entrepreneurs go through different phases in building their companies,” said Tom Still, president of the Wisconsin Technology Council, which has produced the conference since 2003. “Our 2011 conference tracks are designed to help them get information they need as their businesses move ahead.”
