It’s been one year since the opening of Aurora Health Care’s $228 million medical center in Mount Pleasant adjacent to the Foxconn Technology Group campus, with the new facility admitting nearly 1,800 patients by year-end 2022.
The facility represents Aurora’s first hospital in Racine County east of Interstate 94 in territory that had been dominated by Ascension Wisconsin.
Ascension’s All Saints hospital in Racine reported 8,516 admissions in 2022, which was a decrease of 1,872, or 18%, from 2021, according to the Milwaukee Hospital Utilization Report. An Ascension Wisconsin spokesperson declined to comment on the health care market in Racine County.
