A Hobbit-inspired cafeteria and a Narnia-inspired office building are among multiple new structures Epic Systems Corp. is planning at its headquarters in Verona.
The health technology company is led by founder Judy Faulkner, the state’s third-richest person, and is known for its fantastical campus outside of Madison that the company says is designed to inspire creativity among its thousands of employees. Its latest expansion would add an “Other Worlds”-themed section to the campus that would include six new office buildings and a food service building, according to plans Epic submitted to the city of Verona.
Construction is already underway on a 2,050-stall underground parking structure for the expansion, according to the city. The city’s Plan Commission on April 3 is set to review site plans for the first three office buildings and the food service building.
