Johnson Controls International is exploring expansion options in the city of Glendale, including the possibility of an office and research building near its current corporate campus that could house a couple of hundred workers.
That’s according to project plans under review by Glendale officials this week and a statement released by Johnson Controls on Thursday. The potential 109,000-square-foot office building is proposed by Weas Development Co. on North Green Bay Avenue, across the street from Johnson Controls’ corporate campus.
The city of Glendale is considering a tax incremental financing district to support that project with $3.1 million in direct incentives and $945,000 for public infrastructure projects. The new building is expected to house 200 workers, according to the city’s draft plan for the TIF district.
