The Medical College of Wisconsin attained financing for its new $134 million cancer research center and other smaller projects through a $165.3 million bond issue.

Also funded by the bonds will be an ongoing renovation of MCW’s Basic Science Building, expansion of the college’s vivarium and a cryo-electron microscope facility, the college said in a document for the bond offering.

The federal tax-exempt bond financing was facilitated by the Wisconsin Health and Educational Facilities Authority. Part of the proceeds went to refinancing WHEFA-issued bonds from 2008.
