Microsoft Corp. anticipates 200 jobs for the $1 billion first phase of its data center development in Mount Pleasant, but could add 460 more over time.

Those numbers made public Friday are the first detailed job projections for Microsoft’s data center project, and the first confirmation of how its presence in Mount Pleasant could expand beyond the first phase that could start construction later this year. Microsoft is seeking site plan approvals this month so earth-moving can start on the 215-acre southern portion of the 315 acres it bought from the village of Mount Pleasant in late May.
