Milwaukee is one of the last two cities under consideration to host the 2024 Republican National Convention as reported by Politico Thursday morning.

Representatives from the two finalists of Milwaukee and Nashville will travel to Washington, D.C., next week to present final pitches to the RNC site selection committee. Politico reported that RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel was in Milwaukee Wednesday to meet with Acting Mayor Cavalier Johnson and members of the host committee.

Visit Milwaukee communications director Claire Koenig said the short visit with McDaniel allowed her to see the core convention venues of Fiserv Forum and the Wisconsin Center District, which would be the convention campus as it would have been for the 2020 Democratic National Convention. McDaniel was not able to come to the large site visit in mid-February.
