Milwaukee firm Hyde Sportswear may not have received a deal on the reality television show “Shark Tank,” but the owners of the company didn’t necessarily walk away from the appearance empty-handed.

Entrepreneurs Mike Fox and Pat Hughes said their Jan. 21 appearance on the ABC show has shone the spotlight on their company, resulting in an uptick of orders and interest from potential customers. The duo pitched their Wingman lifejacket — which is a ripcord-inflating life jacket designed so the user can easily swim and move while wearing it — and its accompanying accessories to investors on the hit reality show, seeking $200,000 in exchange for 12.5 percent of their company.
