gener8tor founders Joe Kirgues and Troy Vosseller were awarded the prestigious Excellence in Entrepreneurial Education award from the Wisconsin Technology Council at the Early Stage Symposium. Known as the Triple E, the award recognizes the tremendous contributions Kirgues and Vosseller have made to the Wisconsin entrepreneurial community.

Milwaukee shines in presentations

The Tech Council Investor Networks chose 24 companies from across the Midwest to present to a room full of investors at the Early Stage Symposium. Presenters had five minutes to explain their emerging companies and appeal to investors. Among those chosen to present were Milwaukee-based companies Advanced Ionics, Estrigenix, Rapid Radicals Technology and Tip a ScRxipt.

Congratulations Elevator Pitch Olympics Winners!

Fourteen companies from across Wisconsin had 90 seconds to win over the audience and panel of judges in the annual Elevator Pitch Olympics pitch competition. The Milwaukee-area companies chosen to participate in the competition were AdventureCast, VocaTone Studio, Food FiXR, Rex Academy and AMP Mobility.

Presenters were rated on a scale of 1-5 by judges Margie Bacheler of Angel Capital Association, Kelli Jones of Sixty8 Capital, Abhinaya Konduru of M25, Michael Thorson of Inventure Capital and Ryan Weber of Great North Labs.

Winner: Sativa Building System
Second Place: Rex Academy
People’s Choice: VocaTone Studio
