The
July 14 meeting of the Wisconsin Technology Council’s board of directors in
Minocqua will includes presentations by the Northwoods Angels and the Lac du
Flambeau Business Development Corp., as well as discussions on rural health,
the outcome of state budget deliberations and Wisconsin’s “non-compete”
employment laws.
The
meeting will be held at the Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center, 9601 Townline
Road, beginning at 9 a.m.
Presenters
will include Dr. Susan Turney, chief executive officer of the Marshfield Clinic
Health System; Melissa Doud of the Lac du Flambeau Business Development Corp.;
Nicole Justa and Carl Ruedebusch of the Northwoods Angels; and Charlie Hoslet,
associate vice chancellor for government and corporate affairs at the
UW-Madison.
A
panel discussion around Wisconsin’s restrictive covenant (“non-compete”)
employment laws will include Mark Ehrmann of Quarles & Brady, Greg Robinson
of 4490 Ventures; Jonathan Fritz of WebRacing and Randy Dimond of Promega Corp.
The
Wisconsin Technology Council is the independent, non-partisan science and
technology advisory group to the governor and Legislature. Based in Madison,
its quarterly board of directors’ meetings are held statewide. The board
includes about 50 members who represent tech-based companies, angel and venture
capital, academic research, higher education, government and professional
services.
