The Wisconsin Technology Council congratulated Reed Hall on his Tuesday announcement that he will retire Sept. 25 as secretary and chief executive officer of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.

Hall, who came out of retirement as executive director of the Marshfield Clinic in 2012 to lead the state’s economic development agency, was initially asked to head WEDC on a temporary basis. He stayed for nearly three years, helping WEDC gain its footing in areas important to Wisconsin’s economic vitality.

“Reed Hall is a leader of great integrity who came to WEDC at an important transition point,” said Tom Still, president of the Tech Council. “His steadying guidance at critical times in WEDC’s development will continue to benefit the agency and the state for years to come.”

The Tech Council is a WEDC partner on projects related to tech-based economic development and entrepreneurial endeavors, such as the Governor’s Business Plan Contest and the Wisconsin Angel Network.
