Ian Robertson, dean of the UW-Madison College of Engineering and a longtime member of the Wisconsin Technology Council board, will step down by the end of 2024.

“It has been my honor to lead your college for the past 11 years, and to be part of the excellence of our faculty, staff and students,” Robertson said April 22 in a message to the roughly 55,000 engineering college alumni worldwide.

Robertson’s was dean during a succession of expansions and improvements in the college, most recently marked by state approval of a 395,000-square-foot building that will be financed by a combination of state and private dollars.

“Dean Robertson’s passion for the work of the college and what it means to Wisconsin businesses, entrepreneurs and inventors has been unmatched,” Tech Council President Tom Still said. Read more about Robertson’s accomplishments during his UW-Madison tenure here.
