University of Wisconsin-Madison Asst. Prof. Mahua Dey specializes in the surgical management of brain and spinal cord tumors. She partnered with Jacques Galipeau, Marilyn Anderson Prof. of Oncology and an expert in cancer immunotherapy, to develop a vaccine to treat glioblastomas, a lethal form of brain cancer. The vaccine uses potent immune stimulators called fusokines to increase the development of T cells, the body’s natural disease fighters, and recruit them to the brain.
