The city of Milwaukee is ranked within the top 20 technology hubs in the Midwest according to a study from real estate company CommercialCafe while a fellow Wisconsin city received the top spot.
Milwaukee was ranked 17th of the 20 best Midwest metropolitan areas for tech development. Madison was the top metropolitan tech city in the Midwest.
Milwaukee received a score of 47 points. It ranked eighth among the Midwest cities surveyed for the number of patents granted with 823 patents between 2018 and 2022. The city was also the sixth-ranked city for the number of organizations contributing to its patents with 136 organizations in that same time period.
