July is underway with opportunities to celebrate America’s independence and to polish your golf game so you’re primed and ready for the annual Tech Council Golf Outing, to be held Wednesday, July 31 at The Oaks in Cottage Grove.

Join us at The Oaks for a scramble golf outing to support winners of the 2025 Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest and to celebrate summer with members and friends of the Wisconsin Technology Council.

Click here to register for the outing, which will feature an 11 a.m. shotgun start, lunch, carts, prizes and an end-of-day reception. Proceeds will go to fund prizes for winners in the 2025 business plan contest, which is produced by the Tech Council, a 501c3 tax-exempt organization.

An individual can golf for $150; a foursome can golf for $550. Not a golfer? Join us for the buffet and cash-bar social hour following the tournament. The reception-only price is $50.

The Oaks Golf Course, a short drive west on I-94 from the Milwaukee area and easy to reach from the Madison region, can be enjoyed by golfers of any skill level. Playing 5,615 to 6,763 yards, The Oaks combines creative bunkering, wide fairway landing areas and uniquely sloped greens to provide golfers with a best-in-class experience.

The par-71 course includes six varied par 3 holes mixed with five par 5 holes and seven, rather than the standard 12, par 4 holes. Bent grass fairways, tees and greens are augmented by more than 250 mature oak trees scattered throughout the property.

While there are no official U.S. Golf Association rules governing “scrambles,” most such events feature team members teeing off, choosing the team’s best ball for their next shot and continuing until completion of the hole. No good shots on your team? Mulligans are available for a price!

Kayser Automotive Group will sponsor a “hole-in-one” contest on all Par 3 holes, with a top prize leading to a new vehicle and other prize packages for other Par 3 holes. More to be announced!

There will be other hole-in-one prizes among games and contests. Outing participation will also include range balls provided on practice tee; pre-tourney clinic; complete bag service; on-course beverage service; scoring and results sheets; course staff will lead groups to proper tee assignments for shotgun start.
