The producers of ‘Resource Rendezvous’ are looking for early stage companies from Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest to present at the seventh annual conference to be held Sept. 19 in Milwaukee.

The conference, produced by the Wisconsin Security Research Consortium, the Wisconsin Technology Council and UW-Milwaukee, will be held 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the UW-Milwaukee Union Ballroom, 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd., Milwaukee.

Early-bird registration is $99 through Sept. 6 and $119 thereafter. A student rate of $50 is available for undergraduates. All may register by clicking here or visiting http://www.wisecurity.org/.

Up to 10 companies will be selected to present. Companies must register for the Resource Rendezvous and apply to present by 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30.

Selected presenters will give a four-minute pitch to showcase their research and product development ideas to science and technology directors who will attend Resource Rendezvous. Participants will have only four minutes and up to four PowerPoint slides to share information. There will be ample networking time before and after formal presentations. Companies will also receive space in our exhibit area.

“Presenters at past Resource Rendezvous events have established enduring connections with federal science and technology directors, and in many cases have won contracts and grants,” said Jack Heinemann, director of the Wisconsin Security Research Consortium.

Companies pay no fee to apply or to present. However, companies must first register to attend the conference in order to be considered for a presentation slot. Applications must follow a four-slide PowerPoint template (find template here) and are due to jsawatzki@wisconsintechnologycouncil.com by 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30.

Companies selected for the Quad Pitch Presentations will be invited to attend a pre-conference practice session on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at the WSRC office in Madison.

The Resource Rendezvous will also feature opportunities for researchers, grant writers, business leaders and other professionals to learn about the science and technology research gaps within the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security and Energy.

More information about speakers will be released soon.
