More than $231 million was raised by 127 early-stage companies in the state last year, making it the second-highest fundraising total on record, according to a report from the Wisconsin Technology Council.

The latest edition of “The Wisconsin Portfolio” tracked deals using public reports, filings and surveys of investors. The report said some deals may not be included in the year-end totals for the state if networks or investors did not participate in the Wisconsin Technology Council survey.

The $231 million raised in 2017 was 16 percent less than the state’s record, set in 2016. That year, more than $276 million was raised by Wisconsin early-stage companies, the report said. Read the full story here.
