MoveIn Inc., doing business as Madison-based Abodo, an apartment listing technology company, has raised $3.6 million in a recent round of funding, according to filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

With new funding, Abodo plans to expand its engineering department and national sales team.

Abodo launched in 2012. An alum of Wisconsin’s gener8tor, a premier startup accelerator and venture capital fund with offices in Madison and Milwaukee, Abodo has grown to more than 35 employees.

“We know user experience is the key for any great online business,” said Abodo CEO Alec Slocum. “We’re thrilled about our product, but we’re working hard every day to provide renters with the absolute best rental experience in the industry. Our engineering team is growing and we have plans for innovation and expansion. We’re extremely excited about the outlook for the remainder of 2019 and beyond.”

In August 2016, Abodo announced it raised $4.8 million in a Series A funding round. The company has raised more than $10 million since its inception.

“At this point, we’re a national business and a recognized brand in the industry,” Slocum said. “Since our last funding round in 2016, we’ve gained major momentum on a national level in terms of renter usage. We’re entering a very exciting time at the company, as we expand to meet the needs of eager renters in every city across the U.S. We’re expanding to new markets and hiring top-tier talent in cities nationwide to help us accomplish our goals.” Read the full story here.
