WINNEBAGO SEED FUND SUCCESSFULLY CLOSES FUND RAISING, SURPASSING $10MM GOAL, BEGINS REVIEWING INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The Winnebago Seed Fund of Neenah, Wisconsin, announced today that it has raised $11 million from 30 individual and institutional investors based in Wisconsin. The Fund’s target was $10
million. The Fund will invest in Wisconsin entrepreneurs to create and rapidly grow new startups in the Fox Valley and throughout Wisconsin.
“We are impressed by the response from the local investment and business community,” said David Trotter, Managing Director of the Winnebago Seed Fund. “We are eager to move onto the next phase of
the Fund and start making investments. It is a unique opportunity to provide capital to an underserved geography—this will help small companies grow and, at the same time, build Wisconsin’s economy.”
“We are very excited to have the Winnebago Seed Fund located with us, here at the Grind. Big ideas often burgeon in environments that inspire, really big ideas take capital to create. We are proud to say, as a community, we now have both” said Eric Hoopman, Winnebago Seed Fund Investment Committee Member and founder of The Grind and DealerFire in Oshkosh.
Trotter went on to say, “It takes more than just money to start companies. We are excited about the interest other groups have shown in the region. They share our vision of a better startup ecosystem.
Some of the groups that see potential in the area include Concept Loft, Third Floor Accelerator, T2 Accelerator, gene8tor’s gBETA program, and the Grind.”
