That’s according to a release from the state Dept. of Financial Institutions, which notes Gov. Scott Walker created a waiver for this fee when he signed Act 177 into law earlier in the year.
“This is a great way to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of college students across the state and show that Wisconsin is open for business,” said Jay Risch, DFI secretary.
The fee will be waived for any entrepreneurs enrolled in a postsecondary institution in the state who also organized the LLC or will be a member of the LLC. The company must be a startup, and the student in question must be 18 or older.
The only way to get this waiver is to submit a specific paper form to DFI.
