The Legislature’s Joint Committee on Finance has unanimously approved Senate Bill 409, which will expand existing angel investment and early stage seed investment tax credits, create a post-secondary education tax credit for businesses, support technology transfer efforts throughout the University of System, provide incentives to reopen shuttered factories for renewable energy projects and more.

The Connecting Opportunity, Research and Entrepreneurship bill, or CORE jobs act, is scheduled for a vote by the full Senate. To learn more, visit the Tech Council newsroom.

Panelists will include Maliyakal John, managing director of WiSys Technology Foundation; Chad Sorenson, president and co-founder of Sologear LLC; Sen. Julie Lassa, D-Stevens Point, and Rep. Patricia Strachota, R-West Bend. Lassa is a principal author of the bill and Strachota is a ranking Republican on the Assembly’s economic development committee. Tech Council President Tom Still will moderate.
